Former Federal President takes part of the Condolence Ceremony

Following the death of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz former federal president Christian Wulff participated in a condolence ceremony  on 24 January 2015 and extended on behalf of the German Federal Republic and the German people his condolences to the custodian of the two holy mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Saudi Arabia: A key role player in the region

Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited from 12th to 13th October Jeddah. In the port city on the Red Sea, he met with his Saudi counterpart Prince Saud al-Faisal and Crown Prince Salman. In addition, Steinmeier met representatives of civil society and the secretary general of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Amin Madani. Steinmeier held talks on the situation in the Middle East and the threat of the terrorist militia ISIS.

The Ambassador

Ambassador Boris Ruge took up his appointment as Germany’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in June 2014. He joined the German Foreign Service six months before the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Most recently, he served as Regional Director Middle East / North Africa at the German Foreign Office in Berlin.

Goethe Language Center in Riyadh

Starting April 15, 2014 the Goethe Language Center took over the organization of German Language Courses in Riyadh.

The new Goethe Language Center offers German language courses for beginners and advanced learners (men and women). Classes take place in the afternoon and evening hours.

Next courses will start from January 25th, 2015 till March 05th, 2015. Registration is open from now untill completing the seats . The international Goethe Exams will be held on January 23rd and 24th 2015. Registration for the exam is open until December 31st.
